Small White Butterfly
My "experimental / instrumental" composition about a small white butterfly. This is also an introduction to VMPK software and Audacity. I will post more about these very useful software applications. Alcatel Soleil
One Touch was used to record the video.
The video quality was reduced because of conversions for editing.
The original video file is very clear. As much as possible, the next video uploads will be the original ones.

The Importance Of Training
"Train don't strain." - Arthur Lydiard
Training really works. More than 3 months of training, I have put it to practice yesterday May 26, 2013. The Energen Family Fun Run. On the first month of training, I can only run for 500 meters. Thanks to the internet,
I practiced the drills and tips on running. My favorites are the videos about natural, barefoot and chi running.
Gradually, my running distance increased. 500 meters became 1km, then 1.5 km, 2 km, 2.5 km and 3.3 km.
I maintained the 3.3 km distance and focused on speed. This was in preparation for the 3 km category. My training record is 3.3 km in 23 minutes.
On the race day, I feel relaxed and confident. I beat my own record, now it is 3 km in 20 min and 35 seconds. I don't feel very tired or exhausted. I think 5 km is my next level and that is what the next training is all about. Gradually of course. Research, prepare and train.

The Art Of Waiting
We wait most of the time, we waist most of our time.
Banks, stores, all kinds of transportation we wait for our turn. Meetings, business, entertainment, we wait for someone or something. Thanks to technology for cellphone, laptop, tablet, iPod and the likes. We can use these things while waiting. But thanks also to battery life, they are dead just when we need them. What do we do? Just sit or stand in line?
My suggestion:
Back to old school. Pencil or pen, paper or pocket notebook, books, magazines and newspapers. Bring them as your "backup" in case your high-tech gadgets are dead.
Students can study or review while waiting. They can get higher grades and cramming is avoided.

Half Empty Half Full And Half Truth
This is the 100th post.
I am going to publish my thoughts on the question: Is the glass half empty or half full?
It is either half, empty or full.
When it is half, it means the result of dividing or cutting a whole into two equal parts.
Empty is nothing, zero. Cannot be divided or cut, the result will still be empty or zero. Half empty is not real, only in words or language. No person can divide or cut empty.
Half full is also not real. Full is whole, complete, filled to capacity. It can be divided or cut but it will not be full any more. Just half if divided into two equal parts. Not full anymore, just half.
A glass of water divided into two equal parts contains half glass of water. Not half empty, not half full. Just half glass of water.
Mathematically, if the glass measures 6 inches in height then half glass is 3 inches of water.
Full is 6 inches of water, half is 3 inches of water and empty is 0 (zero) water.
Half full = 6/2 = 3
Half empty = 0/2 = 0
The question: "Is the glass half empty or half full?" is asking for half truth.
Maybe the right words are: half of the glass is empty and the other half of the glass is full.
If this is the meaning then choosing either half is not a complete answer.
The truth is we see both. We can see the whole glass even if our one eye is closed.
To say half empty is incomplete. To say half full is also incomplete. They are half truths. We see both halves and that is the truth.
Some might say that the empty part is not really empty. It contains air. Real empty is vacuumed. This is also true.
English - Tagalog
If you know Tagalog language, it will translate to: "kalahati wala kalahati puno". It becomes a joke. Because we just say "kalahating baso ng tubig" (half glass of water).
I remember "I have nothing". In Tagalog it translates to: "Ako meron wala" or "Meron akong wala". Also a joke.

Boston Marathon and Tuesday Run April 15, 2013
So sad when I read the news.
My sympathies.
Got this photo is from Run Junkees
I just ran this morning and congratulate myself for breaking my record.
Not the time record but the distance.
Paused for a few seconds to take a picture after 2 km.
Then ran again for additional 1 km.
Start
2.2 km
3 km
"Relax, be in the moment" is on my mind.
- I learned from Dr. Mark Cucuzzella.
Here is the link: http://naturalrunningcenter.com/2013/04/11/run-boston-marathon-2013/
I hope he is fine, without injury from the explosion.
I also practiced forefoot landing and knee drive.
Went home after the run, that's when I read the news...
